Mark Ngoh

Hey everyone, Mark here! I’m currently a year 1 student in NUS, studying Life Sciences with a second major in Psychology. It is my dream to one day work with people or animals in behavioral studies, and eventually maybe to one day teach! Other interest I hold include playing football, scuba diving, taking long walks, and reading.

I’m currently teaching Physics and Biology under IB Lounge. Physics has always been a vested interest for me, and funnily was always my best subject. Physics to me is a gateway to understanding the world and should be learned not just through formula memorisation and repetition. Instead, we should learn it through conceptual understanding; after all, physics is the study of the fundamental laws of the universe! Physics has been for me, a pursuit in understanding our world logically.

Students can expect enthusiasm from me, and it is really satisfying when someone manages to grasp concepts, especially for physics! For physics, I believe is if one has the grasp of the concept, being able to apply the formula in any situation naturally follows, though sometimes, using formulas repeatedly also helps in understanding!

Ultimately, my goal is to get my students to improve, and to meet their own expectations. But that is just the base minimum. I hope to be able to spark off some interest and passion in them through the way I carry myself, even if its not in the subjects I am thinking, and if I can ever be a inspiration to any of my students, that would truly be my dream.
