“I was introduced to IB Lounge through a friend's A-level Economics tutor, whom I had asked in a fair amount of desperation as to whether he knew any tuition centers which would be accepting students fairly late into Y6. I was enthusiastic to start classes, given the reasonable rates and predicament I was in with regards to my Econs grades for prelims.

However, I kept my expectations realistic, given that the tutors had recently graduated from IB as well. Presently, it is safe to say that my initial expectations were more than exceeded; and that became evident to me from the very first lesson.

My tutor was able to find the balance between friendliness and familiarity with the intensity and rigor of teaching, and always kept us students in mind, asking whether his pace was appropriate for our understanding. I realised that him, having taken IB himself, and the recency of it meant that he was extremely familiar and adept with the subject of Econs, and more importantly, he knew how to approach answering an exam question with adequate efficiency; to maximise the marks attained whilst managing time.

Furthermore, he had resources prepared for us to supplement our learning. Given the short time frame before the beginning of the IB exams, it was really helpful to not have to write and compile personal notes for the many topics within Econs. He collects and marks the essays we do as homework, and provides in-depth, detailed feedback, to ensure that we understand our shortcomings and areas for improvement.

IB Lounge has not only given me the opportunity to improve on my grades, but also allowed me to transition from despair to enthusiasm for the upcoming IB exams, all thanks to the hard work and genuine care from the tutors.
