Why I want to tutor
Being the first among my friends and family to undertake the IB, I empathise with students who may find its rigour daunting at times. That said, my journey with the IB has been deeply rewarding as it helped me grow tremendously as a learner and an individual. I hope to help my students navigate the IB, both in terms of the skills and knowledge that will help them succeed. I greatly enjoyed learning IB History and English Language & Literature. Even today, I have a strong passion for English and its ability to enrich one’s perception of the world. History remains an area of interest as it develops the skills needed to think and write critically. Beyond the memorisation of historical facts, History is rarely studied in isolation and engages an interdisciplinary lens of the world. As a tutor, I aim to help my students excel by creating positive learning experiences and nurturing a deep appreciation for the subjects I teach.
What my lessons will be like:
I strive to conduct my lessons in an engaging manner by establishing a good rapport with my students. I also provide academic guidance and feedback on essays and IAs if necessary. Through guided practices of past papers and lesson material, I aim to equip my students with the necessary skills and techniques for them to confidently conquer the IB. By tailoring the lesson to meet each student’s unique concerns and needs, I aim to clarify any doubts they may have while helping them find joy in the pursuit of knowledge.
